South Tyrol

Alpine and Mediterranean - it's one of a kind!

This melting pot of Austrian and Italian influences is a great place for holding meetings and celebrations. In South Tyrol, nearly everything is possible - from intensive nature experiences, to cultural and culinary events, conferences on farms or Incentive weekends with colleagues - South Tyrol, where Alpine meets Mediterranean, has the perfect event location to suit every taste.

Wedding or Incentive ...

"The charm of South Tyrol, Italy's northernmost province, lies in the harmony of its contrasts", promises Petra Kainzwaldner of Südtirol Marketing (SMG). And the words of this tourism expert are no exaggeration: South Tyrol, with its mix of German and Italian languages, Alpine peaks and Mediterranean spirit, is a wonderful place to live, celebrate ... or even work. nullIndeed, the region has been sought after as more than just a holiday destination for quite some time. The fact that it can be reached easily from south Germany (it takes only three hours to drive from Munich to Bolzano*, for example) makes South Tyrol, with its stunning landscapes, a very attractive destination for Incentives lasting several days, corporate events or weddings.

The fastest way to get to South Tyrol is via the Brenner motorway. The main train line and EuroCity link also follows the Brenner line. In Bolzano, there is a regional Italan airport which is mainly used by private aircraft and charter planes* for business air travel. It serves almost 50,000 passengers each year.

Workshop among the vineyards

South Tyrol's culinary diversity should not be overlooked. The local, authentic cuisine is prepared using ingredients predominantly from the region, and because South Tyrol enjoys 300 days of sunshine per year, it is a prime wine-growing area*.

Many vineyards are family-owned and offer their fine wines in their own restaurants adjacent to the vineyards. Furthermore, vineyards provide the perfect setting for celebrating an idyllic wedding with friends and family or for holding a workshop to devise the latest business strategies. Suitable function rooms with modern seminar equipment are widely available. Alternatively, the numerous mountain huts located 1,500 metres above sea level are also extremely popular. Whether at a party, Incentive weekend or strategy workshop, experiencing the mountain world first-hand, without having to forgo any comforts, has caught on with young and old alike! As such, mountain huts (most of which are easy to reach) have literally soared to success as event locations.

Did you know?

One in twelve award-winning Italian wines comes from South Tyrol (Source: Südtirol Marketing). Nearly half of Italy's red and white wine is produced in this region. Many vineyards now offer function rooms that are not exclusively used for wine tasting.

*Bolzano The provincial capital of South Tyrol has around 100,000 inhabitants and, as a result of its dual culture, is a significant meeting place between Austrian/German and Italian culture and industry.

*In contrast to regular services, charter planes/charter flights take passengers to their desired destination on an occasional basis/for specific events only. For a charter flight, a tour operator (or a company or private individual) charters a large number of seats on the plane in order to tailor the flight to its specific requirements.

*Wine-growing area: The Italian wine-growing industry is an essential economic factor in the country. In addition to the purely agricultural production, vineyards are increasingly gaining in gastronomic importance, as they have been playing host to a growing number of festivities, such as weddings, birthdays or other parties, in recent years.
